MOUNTAIN BIKE "PASSEPORTES"

Follow the 'Free Raid' mountain bike course any time you like with 'Passeportes'.

As a result of the growing popularity of the Free Raid mountain bike event at the beginning of the season, the Portes du Soleil has made the course available to guide visitors around the area, with six checkpoints along the way and a certificate if you complete the course! At tourist offices, or local sports shops buy plates for your bike, a road-book, a Portes du Soleil mountain bike map and of course a book to be stamped at each checkpoint.

Whether by yourself, as a family or with friends, 'Passeportes' is a great outdoors challenge and an adventure for anyone who enjoys open spaces, speed, a good laugh and lots of fun!

THE PORTES DU SOLEIL MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR

The 80km of trails of the 'Tour des Portes du Soleil' are made up of 85% downhill, 15% flat and 5% uphill, and are accessed by 23 lifts running every day during the summer season. This incredible trek between Valais and the Vall d'Aulps is recognised by the FFC (F ation Fran ise de Cyclisme). On the Swiss sections the route is marked by the Touring Club Suisse.

The downhill courses are classed as red runs (for experienced riders), but there are many blue routes in the 12 resorts of the Portes du Soleil where you can practice in safety. Thanks to the lift system, it is possible to complete the 'Tour des Portes du Soleil ' in a day and have an amazing time!

Why not spread the tour over two days if you prefer to take your time and admire the countryside, accompanied by the relaxing sound of cowbells and enjoy a picnic lunch on the grass or eat at one of the many refuges along the way.

SUMMER LIFT PASSES

For some hikes and if you wish to make the most of the mountain bike routes you will need a lift pass. You can take your bikes onto the lifts as they have special attachments to carry them.
